Container Gardening--Put Your Garden On Your deck

Container gardening has most likely been around since the time of the Egyptians and Romans. Gardening using containers is special because it offers the flexibility to have a garden in an apartment or similar small spaces where an ordinary garden would at the very least be awkward if not impossible. In a word, garden design is easy.

Secondly, it offers mobility. Plants can be moved indoors during cold or rainy weather. Also if certain plants need to be treated for garden pests they can be isolated and treated.

Finally, container plants can be used for decorating specific spaces or places. Vegetables, flowers, shrubs and herbs can be grown in containers. Hanging baskets, clay and plastic pots, and ceramic urns are a few of the containers used for this type of gardening.
